The Princess's Stories
Little Brier-Rose
The queen and king were wishing for a child, but they didn't receive one until a frog came bath with the Queen. The frog stated the queen would receive a child before the year passes.
Once the princess was born, the king ordered a celebration for the birth. He was going to invite the 13 wise women, but he realized that he only had 12 golden plates, so one of the women would have to be left at home.
The wise woman gave the princess presents, but after the eleventh wise woman gave her present, the thirteenth women walked in. She was angry for not being invited, cursing the princess by stating that on her fifteenth birthday the princesses would prick herself and fall over dead. The twelfth had attempted to fix it, but could only soften the curse. No longer would the princess die. She would just end in a 100-year sleep.
On her fiftieth birthday, the princess found an old women spinning. She ended up trying and accidently pricked herself. Once she did she and the rest of the castle fell asleep.
A legend began about the little Briar Rose, about how she was waiting for a prince to save her. Many princes tried, but they ended up getting stuck by thorns that had grown around the castle. Most of the princes died a horrible death.
On the hundredth day, a prince went to the castle, to find that the thorns were now flowers. The prince made his way to where Briar Rose was, once he kissed her she woke up. Then they go married and lived happily ever after.
