Rough Faced Girl

The rough face girl story takes place in the Algonquian tribe. The girl is forced by her sister tend the fire, and she ends up burning her face and hair. The powerful Chieftain is searching for a wife, but he's invisible to everyone besides the Rough Face girl.  He is only visible to her because she has a pure and honest heart. She meets the Chieftain and they get married, she also takes a bath in a lake where her beauty is restored. 

Algonkin was a group of tribes that mostly were in North America, most popular in southern Quebec and eastern Ontario, in Canada. They call themselves Anishnabe, which means "original person."
